While perusing etsy.com, one of my favorite websites, in search of wedding ideas I happened upon the cutest signs made of barn wood painted with different sayings like wedding with an arrow, the bride and grooms names and the
wedding date.
I thought to myself, 'how hard can that be to make??' I looked around my house thinking of where I could get old beat up wood without having to buy it. Pushing the thought to the back of my head I went out to water my sunflowers.
While working in my garden, I glanced over at the fence that went across part of my yard, and much to my pleasure this fence that i wasn't too fond of anyways had the perfect wooden slats for my signs!
So screwdriver in hand, I set out to take apart the fence. All the while Josh was at work and had no idea of the changes I was making to the yard.
After some splinters, a few choice words, and a newly improved fenceI had 20 total canvases for my works of art.
Not one to wait around for the right supplies, I found an old paint brush and some white interior paint left over from the previous owner of the house.
So the project began. With only a couple mess-ups and redos, the signs were done just as Joshua was pulling in the driveway.

I met him at the door with what i thought was a smile of pure joy, he however translated it more as a smile of pure guilt. He asked what I did and I proudly showed him my signs.
After saying what a good job I had done he then asked the question-
"So where did this wood come from babe?"
I led him outside to the fence.
He looked at me then the fence laughed and shook his head (he seems to do that alot).
"You sure are crazy babe."
:)
Thats a cute idea and funny story!
